My Second Painting
This is my second painting. I had something very different in mind but as the first coat of paint trickled down the canvas in streaks of blues, i followed my instinct and let my tools guide me. Painted horizontally, it looks great hung vertically and reminds a bit of monet, an unintentional result of my open hearted journey.
Sometimes my clothes match my paintings. It is each time a coincidence!
Here i experienced with texture and my spatula. It was very light after 2 coats, so i kept going layering more paint till it felt done.
Striped
Linen glued on wood. Underneath the stripes is another unfinished painting from years ago. The beauty about acrylics is that you can paint layer after layer if you dont like a result. I had left over paint on my palette and wanted to finish it up. I took my straight wide spatula, dipped it richly in the leftover acrylic and ran it down the canvas. It accidentally created lines with the edge of the spatula which gives it character. The leftover paints mixed naturally into interesting hues of blues and yellows.
